An-Johanna De Blauwe, better known as "Hannablue" comes from Bruges. (1973)
The last 15 years she lives and works in “het Waasland” (East Flanders/ Belgium),
where she coaches others to find their own handwriting in her own studio.
She’s an autdidact but already enjoys international fame since a few years.
Her work is called Avant-garde, imagepoetry, and coloristic.
The "Amazon of the Arts” creates images in which "Femininity" is the central theme,
to make the” Myth of the Modern Woman” visible to the outside world.
It is important for Hannablue to capture Timeless truths in Metaphorical images
to feed our soul power.
When making Art, she alternates her direct approach with thematic studies.
Desires, temptations, feelings, prayer, birth, the soul, wisdom, dreams,
divinations, intuition, anonymity, the seasons, interpersonal relationships, and old stories;
they have all been given a place
A common thread in her work is the use of rough sufaces, strong color combinations and surreal, figurations, flower studies, and the narrative aspectof the work.
During the creative process she loves to experiment, to be in a natural, intuitive flowing state whilst at a painting.
Hannablue works in a very direct style with mixed media, applications and monoprints.
She has a preference for liquid pigments, aerosols, oil pastel, and fast drying acrylics on special shaped canvasses.
Her colors are: Red, pink, yellow, purple, green, orange, gold, silver and pearl.
Her purpose and aspiration is to live from her Art.
